Meets our expectations, a very nice projector.

Comments about Optoma GT1080:

This projector was purchased for use in our home-mainly to watch movies and occasionally we let the kids play xbox with it. So far we love it!

Prior to this projector we rented a little Epsom projector to get a feel for what we were looking for. That projector was fine but, could only be used in very dark rooms.

This model that we purchased has been used in a variety of lighting situations-even daylight without closing the blinds-and we can still see the image it's projecting clearly.

So far, we have no complaints. My husband did research before he chose it so it is exactly what we expected and, we are enjoying it.

      Comments about Optoma GT1080:

I bought this projector in April... it's currently in California with the Optoma people getting repaired... the actual image itself is outstanding (though runs a tiny bit on the loud side). About 4 months of use [397 hours to be exact) and the projector can't hold it's colors. It drops a yellow green hue over the screen. Honestly, I think it's a color wheel issue, but as it stands I had to pay $50 to ship it (under warranty) to optoma... be aware... lots of moving parts = you may have to pay to be without your projector over the holidays (or anytime for that matter)

      Comments about Optoma GT1080:

I purchased this unit to use with the AtmoFX Halloween digital decorations for my home Halloween display. Not only was the online staff at Projector People extremely helpful, but they went above and beyond to ensure I was getting the right machine for my application. I needed a short throw projector that fit into my price range, they recommended a fine quality machine. I have attached a photo of my Halloween display...in the glass door, I the projector is displaying waltzing skeletons, that glide back and forth to spooky waltz music....

      Comments about Optoma GT1080:

Yes, It IS a 3D-Ready projector. Beginning service, I have used it to watch 8 hours of 3D movies and 2 hours with a 2D-to-3D DLP converter - works great / great 3D 1080p image with all my 3D DLP glasses - viewed in Full 3D at 1080p - HDMI1.4 cabling to 3D Blu Ray Player and Sony PS3. Be sure to optimize picture settings to your taste First. See OPTOMA USA website under Optoma GT1080 Features (ProjectorPeople, please update your website for this). As per manual and projector's manual, it can also be setup for RF 3D glasses with purchase of optional 3D RF transmitter and glasses. Replaced old Optoma GT750 3D-720p projector which died in a puff of smoke (blown bulb Also blew out projector) at around 3 yrs., 3 mos. of service - hopefully this one will last longer. Works great, but Only fault is there is no longer any Digital Zoom - you'll need to physically move the unit to "fit" the screen image. Coffee table usage is simplest. Ceiling mount may required a "rail"-type mount. Lens construction and quality has improved over the GT750, however the throw is about 3 feet shorter than before. With that said, it would be ideal for an apartment (5 feet throw yields ~136" 16:9 1080p diagonal image). I don't use the built-in speaker - I enjoy using a big surround sound setup (a must - big 3D picture needs big sound for immersion). Enjoy!

          Comments about Optoma GT1080:

This projector is utterly amazing. HD Movies are crystal clear. I have it set for a 135" screen and looking from 6" away you cannot see any individual pixels. Gaming on an Xbox One is incredible...no noticeable lag. For it's price I don't know why everyone doesn't have one instead of a TV. I'm buying a second one for my bedroom. Highly recommended.

I love the 1080p, it makes my games look great and sharp! The colors are very bright when needed and darks are rich and present. I use the projector with my Xbox one, and get no lag the frame rate is perfect! Beware of split screen though because it will make the screen have black bars on the edge and be a little be smaller on the screen. Overall it is a great product and I would recommend to anyone!

              A:

The Projector has MHL so you can stream movies from your computer or phone. If you have a DVD player that you use with your Receiver you would need to run an HDMI cable for that.
